The best way to spread holiday cheer is singing loud for all to hear! The Church is taking its holiday spirit up a notch at this year’s Markers Market with a Community Sing-Along. The Markers Market will be held over Saturday, November 25th and Sunday, November 26th, from 11 AM – 5 PM and each afternoon at 1 PM, a community sing-along will be held in the parking lot. Take a break from shopping, and relish in the magic of community bonding and song like we’re in a real-life Hallmark film. No need to be a professional singer, this sing-along is for all lovers of holiday, community, and song.
To kick off the caroling and encourage any shy singers, The Church has asked community members Dr. Georgette Grier-Key and David Frye to lead the group sing-along. As Executive Director of the Eastville Community Historical Society, Dr. Georgette Grier-Key, is known for her many professional accolades, but did you also know, she has an incredible voice? David Frye is a tenor and performed at the Metropolitan Opera for many years. Though, we won’t be singing any Wagner, David’s voice will add a specialness to our favorite seasonal classics.

Dr. Grier-Key currently serves on the board of the Museum Association of New York and the board of the Preservation League of New York State. Additionally, Dr. Grier-Key dedicates herself to her community by leading and serving on local and regional boards such as the NAACP Brookhaven Town Branch where she is the duly elected President. Dr. Grier- Key is an adjunct assistant professor at CUNY Medgar Evers College and the director of the Long Island History Institute at SUNY Nassau Community College. Dr. Georgette Lovette Grier-Key is the executive director and chief curator of Eastville Community Historical Society of Sag Harbor and has worked in various museums, historical societies, and service organizations with a focus on organizational sustainability.
Dr. Grier-Key is a historian, preservationist, and curator, using her skills and experience as an organizer and activist to further the agenda of inclusion in traditional frameworks that have practiced institutional and structural exclusion. She is a not-for-profit management specialist and practitioner with more than 20 years of experience in both business and non-profit organizations. She provides consultant services from small to mid-sized organizations including several municipalities.

David Frye is a Water Mill resident whose career as a singer spans hundreds of performances of roles at the Metropolitan Opera and other major companies. He’s appeared as soloist at Carnegie Hall, all the classical stages of Lincoln Center, and Royal Festival Hall. As a member of the MET chorus, he won two Grammy awards and was seen in dozens of live transmissions.
