Guided Studio Visit with Artist-In-Residence Peter Solow

  • The Church 48 Madison Street Sag Harbor, NY, 11963 United States (map)

This program is free, open to the public, and requires no RSVP.

Join us for a guided studio visit with artist-in-residence Peter Solow! Over the past month, Solow has made significant developments on an installation piece that incorporates traditional and digital practices to recreate the experience of standing in a city square. Derived from 35 years of visual notes, sketches, photographs, and paintings, this work draws inspiration from the Italian cities of Venice and Florence, examining how the campos and piazzas of both cities have organized themselves within the context of their natural environment. We invite the community to observe and reflect as Solow discusses his work and practice, highlighting the progressions made while in residence.

This event is free and open to the public! Stop by anytime between 12:00 – 1:00pm on January 28th.

  • Peter Solow is a visual artist whose work is in the permanent collection of The Metropolitan Museum of Art, The Museum of American Art-Smithsonian Institute, The Dallas Museum of Fine Arts, the Samuel P. He has had an extensive teaching career and is the former coordinator and a present trustee of The Donald Reutershan Education Trust. Mr. Solow lives in Sag Harbor.
