Organist Brian Charette brings his powerhouse quartet to the stage, joined by saxophonist Joel Frahm and guitarist Sheryl Bailey. Known for his Grammy-nominated work and modern spin on the Hammond B3 tradition, Charette delivers swinging, funky, and deeply inventive grooves. This all-star lineup blends bebop, soul jazz, and forward-thinking interplay.

ABOUT THE ARTISTS

Grammy-nominated organist Brian Charette is among the most inventive and versatile Hammond B-3 players of his generation. Fusing a deep knowledge of jazz history with a taste for modern sonic experimentation, Charette has carved out a unique space in contemporary jazz. His music seamlessly bridges the classic soul jazz traditions of Jimmy Smith and Larry Young with cutting-edge influences from electronica and funk.

In this configuration, Charette brings together a powerhouse quartet. Joel Frahm, a commanding tenor saxophonist with a rich tone and spontaneous creativity, has worked with Brad Mehldau, Betty Carter, and Jane Monheit, earning a reputation for his fearless improvisation and melodic clarity. Sheryl Bailey, hailed as one of the most compelling jazz guitarists of her era, brings virtuosic technique and a deep bluesy swing to the ensemble, having led acclaimed projects and taught at top institutions like Berklee College of Music.

With the addition of dynamic drums (often featuring longtime collaborators such as Jordan Young), the Brian Charette Quartet delivers high-energy sets filled with infectious grooves, rapid-fire exchanges, and moments of introspective beauty. Whether playing standards or original compositions, the group exemplifies the thrill of spontaneous interaction and the power of modern organ jazz.
