Connecting with the themes of humanity’s relationship to nature at the core of The Ark, this provocative discussion explores the ways the private and public sectors are investing in the future of our environment. The Church is grateful to welcome David Loehwing, Head of Sustainability and Stewardship, North America, Impax Asset Management, and Kevin McDonald, President, Nature Conservancy. The pair will be joined by moderator Anna Raginskaya, Partner, Blue Rider Group at Morgan Stanley, and take a deep dive into the technologies and plans currently being developed to protect biodiversity in the future.
Loehwing’s expertise in sustainable investing, deeply engaged with these ideas is paired with McDonald’s experience working at the intersection of private and public interests coming together to build and protect the natural resources of our region.

Head of Sustainability & Stewardship, North America for Impax Asset Management

David leads the sustainability team in North America and is responsible for overseeing Impax’s sustainability and ESG research and development of its methodologies, as well as engagement and stewardship across Impax portfolios. David leads on Impax’s internal sustainability frameworks including the construction and management of Impax’s Systematic ESG Rating and the Impax Gender Score. He is a member of the Impax Sustainability Centre, Sustainability Lens Committee, Sustainability Policy Committee and ESG & Sustainability Committee which goven integration of sustainability and stewardship in Impax’s investment process.
David’s role at Impax also includes Co-Chair of the Environment Group and member of the Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Group.
David has worked in sustainable investing since 1998. Before joining Impax in 2007, he worked in the field at Citizens Advisers and the Investor Responsibility Research Centre. David has been active within industry working groups and advisory committees related to sustainable investing.
David graduated from Bowdoin College, Maine, with a BA in sociology.
ABOUT KEVIN McDONALD
President, Nature Conservancy

Kevin McDonald is Senior Conservation Policy Advisor for The Nature Conservancy in New York, where he has served for over 20 years. Based on Long Island, Kevin plays a pivotal role in advancing environmental policy and land conservation initiatives across the region, with an emphasis on clean water initiatives and public funding. He was instrumental in the creation and ongoing success of the Community Preservation Fund, a landmark initiative that has protected over 10,000 acres of open space, farmland, and waterfront across the East End of Long Island. He also helped pass the Water Quality Restoration Act, which passed in the last election, with support from 72% of voters. His work emphasizes innovative, collaborative, and community-driven conservation strategies that safeguard natural resources while enhancing public access and quality of life. Kevin lives with his wife in Hampton Bays, where they raised two boys.

Anna Raginskaya is a partner of the Blue Rider Group at Morgan Stanley, a boutique, women-led financial advisory team that works with non-profits, foundations, and families, with a special focus on the cultural community.
The Blue Rider Group leverages an open architecture investment platform to construct customized equity, fixed income and alternative investment portfolios to address each of their clients’ needs. They also draw extensively on expertise in values-aligned investing, as a tool to help clients deepen their portfolio’s connection to their mission, engage stakeholders, and drive social and environmental change. In addition to addressing their clients’ financial needs, the Blue Rider Group facilitates introductions between philanthropists and non-profits, raises awareness about organizations, and helps support projects that strengthen the cultural community.
Anna writes and speaks frequently on the topic of values-aligned investing for arts organizations and has moderated panels at Confluence Philanthropy, Grantmakers in the Arts and at the American Alliance of Museums Conference.
Anna earned her BA in History of Art and Architecture from Harvard College and MBA from Harvard Business School. She serves on the board of the Lower Manhattan Cultural Council (LMCC). Anna was born in Ukraine and is fluent in Russian.
