Knowledge Friday returns with Steve Bechard and Tim Regan. Steve is a world-class angler; Tim is an accomplished ocean videographer. Join us for a visual foray into the beautiful art of fly fishing and the waters of the East End allowing them to reel in our attention and discuss the catches that have changed them the most, both on the line and through the lens.

 An accomplished angler, Steve has put his fly fishing skills to the test, competing in several ESPN Great Outdoor Games. He has used to his knowledge and skills to teach others. A guide and a teacher, Steve is also the President and Co-founder of Rise Fishing Co. which brings quality rods that are enjoyed by skilled and novice anglers alike.

NY waterman Tim Regan is a guide for Rise Fishing Co. and is a certified Drone Pilot and ocean videographer. Field editor for On the Water magazine, Tim presents stunning shots of life in the water. From schools of fish to the majesty of whales breaching, Tim’s work is an examination of the artistry of the natural world.

Knowledge Fridays, held the first Friday of each month, highlight outstanding East End locals with various backgrounds and careers. The program allows the audience to meet and learn about dynamic, inspiring, and fascinating East Enders. It is a monthly program open to the public and free to our members. 

  • Steve is the President and Co-Founder of Rise Fishing Co. Growing up in Upstate NY, Steve spent his free time fishing for trout in the Adirondacks and Catskills, chasing Great Lakes salmon and steelhead, and stalking carp on the flats of the Finger Lakes. He now calls the waters of Eastern Long Island home and spends his time on the water chasing stripers, bluefish, and false albacore.

    Steve is a guide, casting instructor, and accomplished angler having competed in the Fly Fishing Masters and ESPN’s Great Outdoor Games.

  • Tim Regan is an Author at On The Water magazine, a certified drone pilot, and a renowned photographer specializing in nautical landscapes. His incredible images of life on local waters have garnered him attention. In the summer of 2021, Tim’s drone footage of four black tip sharks swimming through massive schools of menhaden, parting the fields of fish as they swam just offshore in Bridgehampton, went viral on Instagram.
