Announcing The Churchennial – a multi-media exhibition highlighting the artists in residence program at The Church from its first three years, 2021 through 2024. More than 40 artists will be on view in all artistic media, from painting, sculpture, drawing, photography, and video art, in addition to activations and workshops in performance, music, and the written word. “It is thrilling to see how the residency has impacted the lives of so many artists from both the East End and around the world, and we are thrilled to be able to present a platform that will allow them to share their work and deepen community connections,” says Executive Director Sheri Pasquarella.

The residency program of The Church has been at the center of the organization’s mission since day one and ensures that Sag Harbor continues its long history as a thriving center for makers and artists. Since 2021, the residency program has featured over 128 artists and thinkers. The year-round program includes provides artists with living and workspace, as well as an opportunity for community-based work and collaborations; originally housed on site at 48 Madison Street, the dwelling moved off-site in 2022, while the creative workspaces and studios remain in the main building. In addition to supporting individuals from around the world at all career stages across practices and the arts and sciences, special rotations include a Community Residency cycle that provides studio space to artists of the South Fork, and a group practices cycle that  supports any works of art that require multiple for the creation of the work – like dance/ choreography, performance, musical composition, etc.
