Sean-Kierre Lyons
May 2nd - 8th

Sean-Kierre Lyons is a multidisciplinary artist, making works surrounding derivatives of black folklore, anthropomorphization , and personal experiences. Lyons addresses ideas of exclusivity and ownership, making space for dialogue surrounding the reclamation of group identity and oral traditions. Her work is forged using elements of humor and whimsy through drawing/painting, sculpture, installation, and performance.

Lyons will be joined in residence by collaborator Yves B. Golden. Together, they will write a folklore and sound piece based on research conducted on the surrounding terrain and culture.
