Join Tom House, founder of Hamptons Pride, for a drop-in workshop decorating quilt squares in memoriam of those lost to the AIDS pandemic, with a focus on the life and legacy of American artist Patrick Angus. Facilitated by House, participants will be asked to paint a quilt square in the style of Angus, who was best known for his intimate portraits of men and his evocative depictions of gay life in 1980s New York City.
Following the session, squares will be sewn together into a finished quilt and shown at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church in East Hampton from November 28th – December 1st, alongside their display of quilts from the National AIDS Memorial.
All necessary tools and materials will be provided.
