Figurative Monotypes with Susan Bachemin

  • The Church 48 Madison Street Sag Harbor, NY, 11963 United States (map)

Tickets

$250

Limited to 8 participants

Join Susan Bachemin, printmaker-in-residence, for a dynamic exploration of the figure through monotype printmaking. Working from a live model, participants will utilize techniques that are uniquely suited to the medium to explore gesture and line, as well as building the human form through light and dark shapes. Over the course of six hours, participants will develop their own interpretations of the figure through observation, and reach into the possibilities of the monotype process as ink comes to life on paper through the magic of the press. Participants will also learn basic press operation, printing their own works on our American French Tool and Conrad Machine etching presses.

Some knowledge of monotype printmaking is recommended but not required. All necessary tools and materials will be provided, and created works can be taken home at the conclusion of the workshop.
