FOR YOUTH AGES 13 - 18

Become an animator for the day! Join Laura Bellmont of The Little Animation Studio for an introductory workshop on the art and process of stop-motion animation. Working with professional equipment and software, participants will have the opportunity to design and produce their own short films that can be screened, downloaded, and shared again and again.

 Each session includes:

-       Hands-on oversight from professional illustrator and animator Laura Bellmont

-       Access to state-of-the-art professional equipment

-       Use of and training in the professional software DragonFrame Stop Motion

-       Resources and knowledge to produce a short, animated film

-       The final product: a short animation that you have created as a team or individual.

In this hands-on stop motion animation & drawing workshop, participants will explore the potential of the hand-drawn line under the lens. Utilizing professional software, DragonFrame Stop Motion, participants will use a self-portrait video of themselves to create a “rotoscope animation”. Frame by frame, these vibrant short films/self-portraits will come to life. When finished, the final animations will be edited together into a collaborative animated short film that can be screened, downloaded, and shared.
